 She stated that the demand for certified LoRaWAN devices in these vital sectors is continuously rising, given the significance of extensive device rollouts. The capability of LoRaWAN to meet specialised market requirements has been affirmed through the validation conducted by IEC and CEN standards for smart metering. Two Technical Recommendations have been issued to enhance the functionality of LoRaWAN. These recommendations focus on improving network capacity and enabling direct device-to-device communication.

Several FAQ documents have been released to enhance comprehension of the recent updates made to the LoRaWAN specification.

The LoRaWAN Certification Test Tool (LCTT) facilitates the pre-testing of firmware updates over the air (FUOTA) and relay specifications, while also offering new reporting features.

The Interoperability Work Group is actively engaged in the development of tools and procedures to ensure the certification of interoperability among various components of the LoRaWAN network. As part of this effort, the group is also working on establishing a robust interoperability testbed architecture.
