Which will be held later, signifying the first-ever occurrence of this highly regarded event in the city. The Utilita Arena in the city will host the prestigious awards ceremony, honoring the finest in black British music and culture. Yorkshire will be hosting the Mobos for the third time after previously being held in Leeds twice. The Sugababes have been selected as one of the featured acts for the event, where they will be presented with an accolade in recognition of their remarkable musical contributions spanning two decades.

On Wednesday night, a lineup of talented artists including Soul II Soul, DJ Spoony, Cristale, and grime star Ghetts will be taking the stage. These renowned performers are set to deliver an unforgettable performance. At the city’s iconic Crucible Theatre, a Mobos fringe event took place on Monday, aiming to commemorate the exceptional emerging local musical acts and artists.

In a conversation with BBC Radio Sheffield, singer Lavelle shared her thoughts on the Mobos coming to Sheffield, emphasising that she considers it to be perfectly timed. “It’s anticipated to be an exceptional evening, and there is a great deal of enthusiasm among everyone,” she remarked. Since its establishment in 1996, the Music of Black Origin Awards have been dedicated to promoting and recognizing artists across various genres including grime, hip hop, and R&B.

Chunkz and Yung Filly, popular YouTubers, were chosen to host the 25th Mobo Awards held in London in 2022.

The notable recipients of accolades include Knucks, Dreya Mac, Little Simz, and PinkPantheress, who were recognized for their outstanding achievements. Additionally, Nile Rodgers was bestowed with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
