In discussing Rehana’s medical care in light of financial difficulties, Ashoke remarked, “Rehana Sultan has been in communication with me for an extended period, and her health has not been stable. She experienced a cardiac condition involving her heart valves, which presented complications. Approximately three days ago, her condition worsened significantly. Consequently, her brother, Rishabh Sharma, reached out to inform me that she was facing a critical situation and required hospitalization. He also mentioned that they were encountering financial challenges that were hindering her treatment.”
The president of the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) highlighted the association’s vital role in speeding up the hospital’s response to a critical situation, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the film industry and healthcare providers. He praised the dedication of Dr. Namjoshi and Dr. Sharma for their prompt treatment of a patient without requiring upfront payment, showcasing the medical staff’s commitment to prioritizing patient care. He stated that he contacted Rohit Shetty, Ramesh Taurani, Javed Akhtar, Rajen Sahani, Sunil Bohra, and Vipul Shah, as well as television producer Rajan Shahi. They promptly transferred funds to the hospital’s account for her treatment and procedure. The financial support was received without delay, allowing her valve replacement surgery to be performed yesterday. She is currently stable, although she remains in the ICU and will continue to be monitored by doctors for several more days. Rohit Shetty was out of town, Ramesh was at the Golden Temple, and Sunil Bohra was in Rajasthan, yet they all responded swiftly to assist.
