Vice President Kamala Harris’ reaction to an audience member who interrupted her during her speech has taken the internet by storm.

On September 2, 2024, Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee and current U.S. Vice President, delivered a compelling speech at North Western High School in Detroit, Michigan. The event was captured by REUTERS photographer Brendan McDermid.

During a Labor Day rally in Pittsburgh on Monday, Kamala Harris emphasized her commitment to securing victory in the 2024 presidential election. While addressing the crowd, she took a moment to criticize her Republican opponent, Donald Trump, for his attempts to take the country in a regressive direction. At one point, a rally attendee interrupted her, exclaiming, “He’s [Trump] going to jail.” Although she appeared to find the comment entertaining, she urged her supporters to allow the judicial system to take its course.

At the event alongside President Joe Biden, Harris took a strong stance against the GOP nominee, asserting, “While we strive for progress, Donald Trump is attempting to drag us back to a time when workers lacked the right to organize.” When a rally-goer interrupted, Harris confidently responded, “The courts will take care of that, and we will focus on November. How does that sound?” Her remarks were met with enthusiastic cheers and applause from the audience.

We’ve got November covered. The courts can take care of the other matter. But there’s no turning back, she asserted, as the crowd rallied with chants of, “We’re not going back!” Harris emphasized, “It’s crucial to reflect on what has happened and what is currently at stake. Don’t forget, during his presidency, Donald Trump denied overtime benefits to millions of hardworking individuals.”

He stood firmly against initiatives to increase the minimum wage! As the president pointed out, he selected individuals who undermine unions for the National Labor Relations Board. Furthermore, let’s not overlook his backing of so-called right-to-work legislation. If Donald Trump were to win another term, he plans to extend even more tax breaks to the wealthiest individuals and large corporations.
